Third Teen Sentenced in America's Best Value Inn Murder

Ky' Shir Connally

SALISBURY, Md. - The last of three teenagers convicted of murder-related charges for a teenager's 2015 death has now been sentenced.

Nineteen-year-old Ky’shir Connally of Delmar was sentenced Thursday to 30 years in prison, the maximum sentence for a second-degree murder conviction, according to the Wicomico County State's Attorney's Office. He was sentenced to an additional 15 years on a firearm charge, which will be served consecutively. In total, the state's attorney says his sentence includes 45 years of active incarceration, to be served in the Division of Corrections.

Back in August, Connally was convicted of second-degree murder, conspiracy, handgun use in a violent crime, accessory after the fact and other related offenses for the August 2015 shooting death of 17-year-old Rakim Russell at the America’s Best Value Inn on Route 13 in Salisbury.
