Days After His Arrest, Cambridge Mayor Has No Plans of Stepping Aside

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - A trial date has been set for Cambridge Mayor Andrew Bradshaw. Bradshaw faces 50 counts of revenge porn for posting intimate images of a former girlfriend on the website Reddit. Bradshaw made his first court appearance Monday since taking an indefinite unpaid leave of absence last Thursday.

The trial is set for four days in April, beginning April 26th and going until the 29th. The state prosecutor and the defense agreed to move up the status hearing from March 14th to January 10th.

Bradshaw was first investigated in early August when the state police and the state prosecutors office searched the mayor's office and Bradshaw's home. Days later, on August 9th, at a city commission meeting, Bradshaw said the investigation was a private matter and that he would continue serving as mayor.

On November 15th Bradshaw was charged with 50 counts of revenge porn for posting intimate photographs of a former girlfriend on the public forum Reddit. The charging documents say that the photographs were captioned with racial slurs and sexually explicit language.

The next day Bradshaw's attorney Michael Belsky said Bradshaw would not step down from office. The city commission responded by calling on Bradshaw to resign saying they would "pursue all options under Maryland law and the city charter.

If convicted of all of his charges - Bradshaw could face a maximum penalty of 100 years in prison or a 250,000 dollar fine. The next Cambridge city commission meeting is December 13th.
