SALISBURY, MD - The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 12-year-old boy on murder and other charges in connection with the death of a 2-year-old child.

On September 16th, police say they arrived to a home on Jack Drive in Salisbury on reports of a dead child.

Police, along with the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center, spoke with caregivers there and learned of the circumstances surrounding the child’s death. After their investigation, charges were issued for the 12-year-old who lives in the same home as the 2-year-old, according to police.

Authorities say they arrested the 12-year-old and took him to the Lower Eastern Shore Children’s Center where he is still being held.

The boy has been charged with the following:

-Murder 1st Degree

-Murder 2nd Degree

-Assault 1st Degree

-Assault 2nd Degree

-Reckless Endangerment
