BLADES, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a 16-year-old Millsboro man, for murder following a homicide investigation in Blades.

On June 19, 2021, just before 11 p.m., police were called to the area of East Forth St. for reports of shots fired. When police arrived they found a 20-year-old man lying in the roundway with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

According to police, after an investigation they were able to identify the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. On December 30, troopers went to the Ferris School, a secure facility were the suspect was being held. At the school, the suspect was arrested and charged with Murder 1st degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, robbery 1st degree, and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.

The 16-year-old was arraigned in the Family Court and remained in the custody of The Division of Youth Rehabilitative Services on $130,000 cash bond.
