Maryland Department of Agriculture Begins Aerial Spraying to Control Increasing Mosquito Populations

DORCHESTER COUNTY, MD - Aerial mosquito population control measures are set to start in several areas of Dorchester County later today.

The Department of Agriculture says a white aircraft will fly between 300 to 500 feet during the evening hours of Wednesday, weather dependent.

The areas scheduled to receive spraying services are Black Water, Elliott Island, Golden Hill, Madison, McKeil Point, Town Point, and Woolford.

The total area to be treated is about 8,700 acres. Officials say it is not necessary for neighbors, pets, or livestock to leave the area during the operation.
