ACCOMACK COUNTY, VA- The Accomack County Sheriff's Office is warning of two women it says are posing as health department employees in the Parksley area.

The sheriff's office says it has received reports that the pair is going door to door, claiming they need to conduct septic inspections in the area around Hernandez Drive and Mirina Road.

Deputies say they are asking to go inside the home, how many people live there, and when they are typically home. Law enforcement says they are driving a silver Toyota Corolla with a Pennsylvania license plate.

Authorities say they are not employed by the Virginia Department of Health.

The Accomack County Sheriff's Office is giving these reminders:

• Do not allow unknown individuals into your home

• Always ask for identification from anyone claiming to represent a government agency

• If you are unsure, contact the agency directly to verify

• Report suspicious activity immediately

If you encounter these individuals or observe suspicious activity, please contact the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office or call 911 if you feel unsafe.
