BERLIN, MD - The Worcester County Fire Marshal has investigated a residential fire that temporarily displaced three people on Monday.

According to the Fire Marshal, the Berlin Volunteer Fire Company was notified of the fire on Saint Martins Road just after 11 a.m. this morning, December 4th. There, firefighters found fire and smoke emerging from the home. It took about an hour and a half for the firefighters to control and extinguish the flames. The Ocean City, Ocean Pines, Showell, and Willards Volunteer Fire Departments were also on scene to assist.

The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office also responded to the home, and a through examination was conducted. The Fire Marshal’s Office say they determined the fire started in the family room due to faulty electrical wiring.

The three residents of the home are temporarily displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross, according to the Fire Marshal’s Office.
