BETHANY BEACH, DE - The Bethany Beach Police Department is warning people in the community about a recent increase in package thefts.
The Bethany Beach Police Department says they have seen an increase in thefts from porches. The recent increase in "porch pirates" has been more prevalent in the past 2 weeks.
The police department says they are currently working with various delivery companies and investigating leads. The following tips are provided by the BBPD on how you can avoid packages from being stolen:
- Install security cameras
- Be available for your deliveries
- Require a signature
- Track your packages
- Choose in-store pickup options
