OCEAN CITY, MD - The Worcester County Humane Society held their annual "Boardwalkin' for Pets" fundraiser in Worcester County on Saturday.
Four-legged friends from across Delmarva were at the Ocean City Boardwalk on Saturday for the Worcester County Humane Society's 24th annual Boardwalkin' for Pets fundraiser.
The event raises funds for the humane society, with all proceeds going to keep the no-kill shelter running and expanding its services. Organizers say despite the rainy and gray weather, there were over 200 walkers who came out to support.
In addition to walking the boardwalk, there was also a scavenger hunt and doggy dig with prizes. Some of the pups on the boardwalk were even ones from the shelter that were adoptable!
Sandy Summers, a Worcester County Humane Society Board Member and Volunteer, says Boardwalkin for Pets is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year. "We raise awareness about our shelter, and it helps our shelter save more lives. We have a lot of things that this walk helps support."
Following the event, the Worcester County Humane Society posted to their official Facebook page saying, "We are so grateful for the love and kindness you’ve shown — it means the world to us and to all the furry friends, who benefit from your generosity."
