CAMBRIDGE, MD.- In a move to enhance community safety, the Cambridge Police Department is opening a police substation in partnership with Altair Apartments.

Officials say the new substation can be found at 618 Greenwood Ave., Apartment 102. This initiative is a step in the department's efforts to curb crime and improve the quality of life for residents.

This particular neighborhood has been a hot spot for criminal activities. The substation is expected to give a more direct and consistent police presence in the area, thereby deterring criminal activities.

“Being more visible and seen out there. And have officers show more of presence in the area in hopes to curb the crime and also make the residents there feel much safer in the neighborhood that they’re living in,” Cambridge Police Chief Justin Todd said.
