CAMBRIDGE, Md.- A man is dead after a shooting Monday morning in Dorchester County. Maryland State Police say around 8 a.m., Cambridge Police got reports of a shooting on the 600 block of Bradley Avenue in Cambridge. They found 36 year-old Taron Jones of Cambridge suffering from at least one apparent gunshot wound. He was declared deceased at the scene by Dorchester County emergency medical services personnel.
According to officials, the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit was asked take over the lead of the investigation into the case. The Cambridge Police Department is assisting Maryland State Police in its investigation. Homicide detectives have consulted with the Dorchester County State's Attorney Office. Homicide detectives say they have identified a person of interest in this case and there is no threat to the public at this time. The case remains under investigation.
