LEWES, DE - The Lewes Police Department is investigating a vehicle accident that occurred early Saturday morning in Sussex County.
The Lewes Fire Department says just after 2:00am, they were dispatched to a vehicle accident in the area of 94 Bay Ave in Lewes. The Lewes Police Department told fire officials that the subject was still in the vehicle following the incident.
Units from the fire department arrived on the scene to find that the vehicle had rolled over several times. The car had come to a stop on the passenger side, approximately 25 yards off the roadway on Lewes Beach. LFD confirmed that the driver was trapped.
Units worked to extract the subject from the vehicle. They were transferred to a local hospital, according to LFD.
