Caroline Co. House Fire Under Investigation

Officials say the blaze at 21914 Main Street started in a first-floor bedroom and was reported by the home’s occupants at 8:16 p.m. May 7.

 

HILLSBORO, MD– The Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a house fire which left one firefighter injured May 7. 

Officials say the blaze at 21914 Main Street started in a first-floor bedroom and was reported by the home’s occupants at 8:16 p.m. 

Those inside safely escaped, along with multiple dogs. 

Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company crews spent about one hour suppressing the flames, during which time one firefighter was injured and transferred to a local medical center for evaluation. 

No other injuries were reported. 

The damage is estimated at $100,000. 

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Upper Eastern Regional Office of the State Fire Marshal at 410-822-7609.
