POCOMOKE CITY, MD– Emergency crews responded to a diesel fuel spill on the Pocomoke River March 31.
The City says it alerted Maryland's Department of Natural Resources and the Worcester County Hazmat Team to the spill at the City Docks around 3 p.m.
The Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company also responded, saying the spill came from a sunken sailboat. Hazmat teams reportedly placed containment booms and wrapped up the response by 4:40 p.m.
The City noted neighbors may smell diesel fuel in the air following the spill.
