Crews Respond to Dover Field Fire

The Dover Fire Department responded to the 600 block of Nimitz Road around 8 p.m. on June 29 to find approximately half an acre of a field burning.

DOVER, DE– Fire crews responded to a brush fire near Dover Motor Speedway last night. 

The Dover Fire Department (DFD) responded to the 600 block of Nimitz Road around 8 p.m. on June 29 to find approximately half an acre of a field burning. 

Crews established access through the Dover Motor Speedway campgrounds and managed to extinguish the flames before the fire spread significantly, according to a press release. 

DFD did not say what started the fire. 

No injuries were reported.
