Scam Alert

DELAWARE - Delaware's Division of Motor Vehicles is reminding state residents of E-ZPass Scams.

Back in February, Delaware's Cyber-Security and Department of Transportation reported that there was an increase in E-ZPass text scams. On Sunday, the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles reminded state residents of the safety alert and what to look for when receiving these scams.

Delaware's DMV stated that "E-ZPass Delaware will NEVER contact you by text or email instructing you to CLICK A LINK TO MAKE A PAYMENT or change personal information."

If you receive a text or email that you believe is a scam, you are urged to file a complaint on the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center website. The DMV says you can also report the number to your wireless provider by forwarding the message to 7726 from your phone.
