Plantation Road Closure

LEWES, DE - The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced the closure of Plantation Road for six months. 

According to the Department, Plantation Road will be closed to all traffic between Shady Road to west of Salt Marsh Boulevard. The closure includes no access to the Route 9 intersection until May 2024 when a new roundabout will open, according to the Department. 

The closure comes as part of the Department of Transportation’s planned improvements and realignment of the Plantation/Beaver Dam/US 9 intersection.The improvements are aimed at reducing congestion, boosting safety, and accommodating anticipated growth in traffic, the Department says.

DelDOT says the closure will begin Monday, November 6th and last six months. Drivers are asked to follow posted detours and expect delays.
