State Environmental Agency Says Drought is Possible in Maryland

DELAWARE– Delaware's Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) launched a drought tracker website to spread awareness about the First State's water supply amid ongoing dry conditions.

The site will provide regular updates on county and municipality precipitation totals and what those numbers mean for Delaware's drought, according to DNREC. Visitors can also access water supply management resources, "Drought Discussion" from contributing experts and links to neighboring states' drought monitors.

An initial update from the Drought Resources and Awareness website shows above-average March precipitation across the state, as well as improving groundwater and long-term drought outlook metrics.

DNREC partnered with the Delaware Geological Survey and University of Delaware's Center for Environmental Monitoring to create the site.
