Chopper 16 over the aftermath of the chicken house fire

POCOMOKE CITY, MD.- A full chicken house caught fire this morning in Pocomoke City.

The fire marshal says the building caught fire around 6 a.m. on Boston Road. Authorities say about 18,000 four-week-old chickens were inside. No human injuries were reported.

Chopper 16 was over the aftermath of the fire earlier today.

It took about three hours for fire crews from Pocomoke, Stockton, Girdletree, Snow Hill, Newark, Marion, Greenbackville, New Church, Atlantic, and Saxis volunteer fire companies to get the fire under control.

Deputies from the Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office say the structure was a complete loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
