SALISBURY, MD - A Greensboro man has been sentenced to a total of 50 years behind bars for sexually abusing a child in both Caroline and Wicomico Counties.
In February, 2025, Enemias Bautista Perez, 38, was sentenced in Caroline County to 30 years for the abuse with all but 25 years suspended. On April 10, Perez was sentenced to another 25 consecutive years for sexually abusing the same child in Wicomico County.
Perez pleaded guilty to the charges in Wicomico County on January 21, 2025. State’s Attorney Jamie Dykes says the victim was under nine and the abuse occurred over several years.
“The diligent investigation by law enforcement and the multi-disciplinary approach of the Child Advocacy Center ensured that all of this defendant’s illicit deeds came to light,” Dykes said. “I commend the bravery of the survivor and the cooperative and comprehensive investigation conducted by Caroline County law enforcement. I hope the strong sentence imposed by the court will provide some measure of solace for this victim.”
Perez will not be eligible for parole until he has served half his sentence and will be required to register as a sex offender for life should he be released from prison.
