Indonesian police have detained three senior police generals for allegedly wiretapping President Prabowo Subianto and other prominent figures. Asep Safrudin, head of the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency, says the suspects are accused of illegal communication interception and unauthorized data access. The suspects include Presidential Chief of Staff Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo and two others. They were detained at the National Police headquarters. Police allege the wiretapping occurred between 2025 and 2026. The suspects face charges under Indonesia’s Criminal Code and Electronic Information and Transactions Law. Authorities have not disclosed the motive, and the inquiry is ongoing.
