SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. - State police say a Laurel High School paraprofessional is facing felony charges after sending explicit photos to a student.

Delaware State Police say they arrested 21-year-old Emma Brewington, of Millsboro, after reports in October that she sent the photos to a 16-year-old student.

Troopers say during a month-long investigation, detectives learned that Brewington and the student had been communicating electronically since September. Troopers say the messages and photographs continued until the student's parent learned of the relationship and reported it to the school. Detectives reportedly found explicit photos sent by Brewington on the student's phone.

On Nov. 14, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Brewington. On Nov. 16, she turned herself in at Troop 4 and was charged with the following crime:

  • Obscenity Material Provided to a Person Under the Age of 18 (Felony)

Brewington was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 4 and released on her own recognizance.
