SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. - State police say they arrested a woman who had multiple warrants and was not allowed to own a gun.

Delaware State Police say on Nov. 29, around 2:30 a.m., they arrested 34-year-old Victoria Bolen, of Laurel. A trooper on patrol reportedly saw two cars that appeared disabled on the shoulder of Sussex Highway, around Airport Road, near Seaford. Authorities say the trooper stopped to check on the three people in the car, one of whom he recognized from previous investigations as Victoria Bolen.

State police say the trooper had previous knowledge of Bolen's driver's license being suspended and made a computer inquiry, where he found she had two warrants for her arrest.

According to state police, while taking Bolen into custody, a search of her person led troopers to discover multiple drug paraphernalia including wax bags, hypodermic needles, and a glass pipe with burnt ends. During the investigation, troopers say they recovered a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number that was partially in plain view between the Ford’s driver’s seat and center console.

Bolen is prohibited from owning a firearm or ammunition due to a previous felony conviction. She was taken to Troop 5 and charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Possession of a Weapon with an Obliterated Serial Number (Felony)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Bolen was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $5,000 cash bond.
