SALISBURY, MD - Salisbury continues to see the impacts of the overnight storm that brought significant rainfall to Delmarva, with at least two traffic pattern changes Monday afternoon.
On September 18th, well after the rain had subsided and the skies had cleared, traffic at Naylor Mill Bridge was temporarily restricted due to erosion caused by the storm. According to the Mayor’s Office, work at the bridge will be required over the next few days, and drivers are asked to exercise caution in the area.
Traffic barrels have been placed that will narrow the road slightly, the City of Salisbury said, with further restrictions expected tomorrow morning, December 19th. The City says traffic will be reduced to one lane as workers add fill to the eroded area Tuesday morning, and drivers can expect flaggers to direct traffic.
Meanwhile, afternoon flooding at the intersection of Rt. 13 and Priscilla Street Monday afternoon resulted in drivers being redirected from the area. Wicomico County Emergency Services asked drivers to avoid the intersection, as all four lanes of Rt. 13 had become impassible.
