Cambridge Apartment Building Fire Causes $110,000 In Damage, Displaces Tenants

CAMBRIDGE, Md.- The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of a two-alarm fire at an apartment building in Cambridge.

It broke out Wednesday afternoon at Bay Country Apartments on Greenwood Avenue.

According to officials, a sprinkler was present but did not activate. 

The fire started in the front exterior open stairwell of the three-story apartment. No one was injured, but it did cause an estimated $110,000 in damage, officials said.

The Red Cross is now assisting with the displaced people from the six apartment units.
