CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- A school in Chestertown was put on lockdown Thursday afternoon after reports of a man with a gun nearby.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. at Chestertown Christian Academy.
According to Chestertown police, several officers responded to the scene and were able to place the school on lockdown. Police said the first responding officer was able to make it to the school in about one minute.
The officer arrested the man without incident. Police said the man was carrying a BB or pellet-like gun that looked similar to a real handgun.
Charges are pending, according to police.
