PORTSVILLE, Del.- Delaware State Police said troopers arrested the second suspect involved with the death of a 19-year-old Laurel man, whose body was found in a pond last week.
Jerry Reed, 26 of Georgetown, turned himself in to police Tuesday. He was charged with first-degree murder, among other gun-related charges, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,070,000 cash only bond.
The charges stem from the death of Isaac Hatton, 19 of Laurel, on Sept. 26.
Troopers first responded to Portsville Pond, located in area of Portsville Road and Dogwood Lane, for reports of a man lying on the shoreline in the morning of Sept. 26. Sussex County Paramedics were also called to the scene, where they pronounced Hatton dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Troopers identified two people involved with the shooting, Reed and Traevon Dixon, 21, of Laurel.
State police arrested Dixon on Sept. 27. He was charged with first-degree murder and other gun-related charges, and was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $160,000 cash only.
