A.C. Moore to Close its Stores, Including Dover Location

A.C. Moore in Dover.

DOVER, Del.- Arts and Crafts chain A.C. Moore said this week it will shutter its retail operations, including in Delaware's capital city of Dover.

In a statement, A.C. Moore said it was shutting down its more than 145 stores from Maine to Florida as part of a corporate restructuring. The company has discontinued online sales but will honor existing transactions.

The company said 40 of those locations will be converted into retail stores for Michael's, another national arts and crafts chain.

A.C. Moore's CEO said additional details will come in the following months for specific plans to close individual stores.

It's unclear what the fate of Dover's location will be, though it may be impacted by the fact that Michael's already operates one location in the city.
