DOVER, Del.- Dover Police have arrested a burglary suspect inside of a Lowe's on Saturday after stealing merchandise.
Police responded to the store after the security alarm went off at 10:20 a.m.
When they arrived, they noticed an open door and began to search the building. During the search they found 44-year-old Christopher Honaker still inside. Honaker was arrested at the scene.
During the investigation, police learned that Honaker had entered the building through the garden area and used a shovel to pry open a set of glass doors.
Honaker then made multiple trips, pushing a shopping carts of merchandise to an apartment in the Cedar Chase apartment complex. All the merchandise was recovered and returned to Lowe's.
Honaker was charged with:
- Burglary 3rd Degree
- Theft over $1500
- Criminal Mischief
- Resisting Arrest
