Updated: Suspected Drunk Driver in Deadly OC Crash Has History of DUI Arrests

SNOW HILL, Md.- A Maryland man has pleaded guilty to negligent manslaughter pleaded guilty to negligent manslaughter in connection to a fiery crash in Ocean City.

Officer suspected 41-year-old Todd Pivec, of Cockeysville, was intoxicated as he drove down Coastal Highway this past June. They attempted to pull him over, but Pivec failed to stop, and officers lost sight of him.

Moments later, police said he struck another car, which caught fire, killing the driver.

Pivec tried to run but was immediately taken into custody.

Court records showed Pivec has had multiple DUI arrests, dating back to 2009.

As part of his plea in this case, prosecutors will not pursue the other charges against him.

Pivec is scheduled to be sentenced February 14.
