Milford Police Arrest NJ Man Wanted from August Incident

MILFORD, Del. -- Milford Police said they arrested a New Jersey man Thursday for various traffic violations after he led police on a chase in August.

According to Milford PD, the department's K-9 unit tried to stop a car for a registration violation on Rehoboth Boulevard on August 30th.

Police said the car didn't stop and led them on a chase through the east side of Lincoln, before the officer decided to stop pursing the car.

Through investigations, police identified the driver involved as Amir M. McMorris, 19 of Mays Landing, NJ.

Police said Delaware Capitol Police arrested McMorris Thursday, and he was later turned over to Milford Police.

McMorris was charged with various traffic violations, including disregarding a police officer signal, as well as terroristic threatening.

He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $4,003 secured bail. McMorris is set to appear before the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas for a preliminary hearing in November.
