EDEN, Md.- The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a playground fire in Somerset County.
A passerby noticed the wooden deck of the playground equipment on Flower Hill Church Road in Eden on fire around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, officials said.
Firefighters from the Fruitland Volunteer Fire Department controlled the blaze in about five minutes, but it still caused an estimated $1,000 in damage to the structure, officials said.
