EASTON, Md.- The Talbot County Democratic Central Committee (TCDCC) announced the addition of new members to its team on Saturday.

Phillip Jackson has been appointed to the committee. He is filling the seat vacated by Abe Kruger who departed the committee to attend law school.

Jackson grew up in Severna Park, Maryland and received a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. His political interests are in supporting democratic policy and candidates at a community level. Phil and his wife relocated from Baltimore to Talbot County in 2008 to raise their family.  They have four children in Talbot County Public Schools.

General Manager for Digital Experience at Adobe, Jackson helps government agencies transform how they reach citizens and government employees.  Previously, as Chief Technology Officer for Chesapeake Medical Imaging, Phil played a role in expanding outpatient radiology services and healthcare to Talbot County. His career has been spent helping mission focused organizations in regulated industries leverage technology to do their job better, faster, smarter.

Bob Hyman is also lending his time and talent to the committee by serving as treasurer. Hyman brings a comprehensive background in financial management, both in the private sector and with local non-profit organizations.  Having served as treasurer for the Hyman County Council race, he also has experience with campaign finance reporting.

Hyman completed his Master of Business Administration at Wharton Graduate School. He and his wife Naomi have been residents of Talbot County for 20 years. Hyman has volunteered as a community mediator and is a 2003 graduate of Shore Leadership.

The central committee is the official governing body of the Democratic Party in Talbot County. It is responsible for making nominations and appointments to certain local and state offices. In addition, the TCDCC fosters other party-building activity in Talbot County, including candidate recruitment, fundraising, and voter engagement in conjunction with the Democratic Clubs.

The TCDCC consists of ten members, evenly divided between women and men, who carry out the local business of the party. Together with the other jurisdictions in the state, these members make up the Democratic State Central Committee of Maryland, the governing body of the Maryland Democratic Party. Members are chosen by Democratic voters during the gubernatorial primary election.
