EASTON, Md.- A historic home that has sat on a dock in Easton for several days was finally loaded onto a barge Wednesday to begin its 50-mile voyage to Queenstown.
Shortly after noon, the Galloway Mansion made its way down the Tred Avon River to its final destination, which was expected to take approximately nine hours.
The home, completed in 1764 in Talbot County, is being moved to Queenstown by its new owner, Christian Neeley, who bought it for approximately $500,000. Neeley said he plans to restore it and give it to his parents to use as a retirement home.
