LONG NECK, Del.- Investigators are searching for the cause of a massive Thursday night fire that caused an estimated $1.5 million in damage to an apartment complex under construction in Long Neck.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze happened at the Carillon Woods Apartments, located in the 34000 block of Harvard Avenue near the intersection of Routes 24 and 5.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames shooting from the four-story building.

Firefighters from the Indian River Fire Co. were assisted by crews from Lewes, Millsboro, Rehoboth Beach, Georgetown, Dagsboro, as well as Sussex County Paramedics, officials said.

Delaware State Fire Marshals are searching for the fire's origin and cause. They said the building was under construction and was designed to house 30 units.

According to the Carillon Woods Apartment's Facebook page, the units were nearing completion, with leases and rental applications going out last week for a move-in date of January.

There were no reported injuries.
