DELAWARE - Troopers arrested 37-year-old Robert Burns in connection with an armed robbery in Wilmington.
Delaware State Police say on Dec. 12, around 7:55 p.m., an armed robbery occurred at Apollo Smoke Shop on Kirkwood Highway. Troopers say an white male suspect, later identified as Burns, brandished a handgun and demanded the employee empty the cash register. After the victim complied and turned over the money, Burns reportedly fled on foot.
On Dec. 15, troopers say they learned of Burns' whereabouts and arrested him in the parking lot of Kent County Courthouse in Dover. Burns was taken to Troop 2, where he was charged with the following:
- Robbery First Degree (Felony)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
Burns was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $120,000 cash bond.
