Months before Lindsay Clancy strangled her three children, the family's former nanny said she saw her deal with significant weight loss, insomnia, and postpregnancy mental health issues. However, Elaine Rossi told the jury at Clancy's murder trial Wednesday that she never saw the Massachusetts mom as a danger to her kids. Clancy's defense doesn't dispute that she killed the children in January 2023, but argues she was overwhelmed by postpartum psychosis, a rare condition that affects women's hold on reality after childbirth. Prosecutors contend that Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, acted intentionally and is criminally responsible. If convicted, she faces life in prison without parole.
