Newton Street art

SALISBURY, Md.- New artwork is coming to Salisbury’s Newton Street Community Center.

Salisbury University’s PACE (Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement) Presidential Citizen students are working with Salisbury’s public art committee. The collaboration sought feedback from community members on how they’d like the street art to look.

The honeycomb artwork will be across from the Camden Community Garden and the Tot Lot Playground.

Student Mauren Krauser says the best part of the collaboration was working with the community.

“We actually came here at the Newton Community Center to talk to the kids and get their input on the mural and get some ideas from them. It was really cool to see them so bright and excited to be out here involved in this community project,” said Krauser.

Students and the city will be out Saturday April 12th to paint the mural and invite community members to come out to help.
