SEAFORD, DE - Delaware State Police have made an arrest in connection to a fatal shooting at a Seaford park earlier this month.
On March 12, police were called to Nutter Park on Collins Avenue just before 4:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting. There, they found Schweitzer Desssin, 23, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite life saving efforts, Dessin later died at a nearby hospital.
Three other men brought themselves to nearby hospitals for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds sustained during the incident, according to investigators.
Authorities say the ensuing investigation identified Jonathan Dugazon, 23, of Seaford, as the homicide suspect. On March 24, police say the Seaford Police Department arrested Dugazon without incident. He was taken to Sussex Correctional Institution on $2,156,000 cash bond and charged with the following:
-Murder 1st Degree (Felony)
-Attempted Murder 1st Degree (Felony)
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
-Possession of a Firearm/Destructive Weapon If Previously Convicted of a Violent Felony (Felony) – 5 counts
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)
-Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Felony) – 3 counts
-Noncompliance With Conditions of Recognizance Bond or Conditions (Felony) – 2 counts
