DOVER, Del.- A Delaware congresswoman announces her support for beginning impeachment hearings against President Donald Trump.
This follows Thursday's testimony of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Representative Lisa Blunt-Rochester joins other members of Congress pushing for impeachment hearings. Blunt-Rochester said, "This was not a decision that I reached quickly or lightly, and I have continued to wrestle with the enormity of its consequences. However, after two years of investigations, hundreds of pages of documents, and hours of testimony, this much is clear – the Russian government waged a sweeping and systematic attack on our democracy."
Rep. Blunt-Rochester highlights the convictions and accusations of several top members of President Trump's campaign and cabinet. The Democrat ends by saying, "This must not become our new normal. We must stand up and demand accountability. Our democracy depends on it.”
Democratic presidential candidates Senators Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, an Cory Booker are also calling for the hearings to begin.
