Raccoon

BERLIN, MD - The Worcester County Health Department has announced the discovery of a rabid racoon in Berlin.

Officials with the Health Department say the rabid animal was found near Powell Circle.

If anyone or their pets had contact with the raccoon, officials ask they call the Worcester County Health Department immediately at 410-352-3234.

The Health Department advises neighbors to report any sick animals or those acting strange, as there may be more rabid animals in the area. Pet owners are instructed not to handle their pets if they’ve had contact with a wild animal and ensure all pets have current rabies vaccinations.
