BROADKILL BEACH, Del.- There's new life for an old, classic store in eastern Sussex County.
The Broadkill Store had its grand re-opening. It's the only store in Broadkill and is now owned by a network of five families.
The revamped store now has a walk-up ice cream counter and a pizza oven, in addition to selling other food, and bait and tackle.
The family says they aimed to keep the store's charm and value to the Broadkill community.
"There's no other store in Broadkill, so this is the heart and home for a lot of people," Lisa Conte, store owner and manager, said. "They really depend on us a lot so we are happy to keep it going."
Starting Memorial Day weekend, the Broadkill Store is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Labor Day.
