DOVER, Del. --- Cavalcades of firefighters, paramedics, and police officers blared the sirens on their vehicles and illuminated their emergency lights as they gathered Tuesday night at Bayhealth Medical Center facilities in Delaware.
The effort saw more than 100 first responders in Smyrna, Dover, and Milford offer their thanks and support to healthcare workers at Bayhealth facilities as they prepare for a possible surge in COVID-19 cases related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Holding signs that said "Thank You" and offered similar messages and encouragement, first responders offered a show of support at a time when Delaware is projecting as many as 650 people could need hospital care because of the coronavirus.
The display also coincides with World Health Day on April 7.
