HARRINGTON, Del.- Due to Delaware Division of Public Health guidance, the Delaware State Fair says its making significant changes to their M&T Bank Grandstand lineup.
In order to comply with social distancing requirements, the capacity of the M&T Bank Grandstand has been dramatically reduced. Pit and VIP Loft tickets will not exist this year. The track area will be set up with 222 pods seating 888 ticket holders. Each pod can hold four seats, and track seats are sold by pod only.
According to the fair leadership, ticket buyers looking for two, four, or six seats will have choices in the stadium bleacher and grandstand areas. In the bleacher and grandstand areas, every other row has been taken out of service and there must be two empty chairs between ticket buying parties.
“Fair leadership and management genuinely appreciate the advice we were able to receive from the Department of Public Health” said Fair General Manager Bill DiMondi. “Unfortunately, the six largest shows on sale until this week have to be cancelled because they were not compatible with the COVID-19 mandated lowered capacity of only 2,500 sellable seats for each concert and 1,500 seats for our wheel events like the demo derby and monster truck show."
The downsizing means Sam Hunt, TobyMac, Tedeschi Trucks Band, I Love the 90’s Tour and Hank Williams Jr., will no longer perform at the Delaware State Fair this year. Refunds are being made for all fairtime shows that were on sale up until this week, and for those who purchased tickets from the fair for June 12th's Roots and Boots show.
The new Delaware State Fair line up is as follows:
Monster Truck Show on Thursday July 22nd,
Blippi, The Musical, a preschooler favorite will be presented with two show time options (3PM and 6PM) on Friday July 23rd;
