DOVER, Del. - The Dover Police Department say they arrested a man for allegedly trying to rob a jewelry story at gunpoint Friday.
It happened around 11:45 a.m. Friday at the Zales inside the Dover Mall on N. DuPont Highway. Police say 25-year-old Mazen Faraj walked into the story and showed a purple and silver handgun while demanding jewelry from an employee.
The employee refused and Dover PD say Faraj ran away but stayed in the mall. Police say they located him and took him into custody, despite him resisting arrest. According to authorities, Faraj was still in possession of the gun he used for the attempted robbery when he was arrested.
Faraj is facing half a dozen charges, including attempted first degree robbery. He was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institute on a $157,000 secured bond.
