Milford Officer TJ Webb Returns Home

MILFORD, Del.- Milford Sr. Cpl. TJ Webb received a hero's welcome home on Wednesday evening.

The officer was shot while issuing a warrant in Rehoboth in mid-December. After being flown to Christiana Hospital and then transported to a rehabilitation facility in Dover, now Officer Webb is going home.

Sr. Cpl. Webb checked out of the PAM Rehabilitation Hospital before 4 p.m. When he and the Milford officers escorting him drove south of the air force base in Dover, the Delaware Patriot Guard was there to greet them with flags, flashlight lights, and support.

"He got injured doing his duty and because of that we need to support him," Captain of the Delaware Patriot Guard Dan Kapitanic said. "We want him to know that he has more support than he thinks."

The Milford Police Department encouraged well wishers to line the highway safely and offered gratitude.

"We are pleased to announce Senior Corporal Webb’s progress continues," the department wrote on Facebook. "Thanks to the great care Senior Corporal Webb has received and his hard work the next phase of his recovery will begin."

A number of community groups continue to offer support to Cpl. Webb and his family.
