Positive Tests for COVID-19 Climb Above 1,100 in Delaware

SMYRNA, Del.- The number of new COVID-19 cases in Delaware rose by 188 on Wednesday, bringing the state above 1,100 positive tests for the coronavirus.

In addition to announcing the statewide case number had reached 1,116, the Delaware Division of Public Health reported an additional three deaths from complications tied to COVID-19. A total of 19 Delawareans have died in connection to the coronavirus.

In total, the state says 636 people in New Castle County have tested positive for COVID-19 while there have been 279 positive tests in Sussex County and 201 cases in Kent County.

Included in the overall numbers are 159 people who have recovered from the coronavirus. The state said 177 people are in the hospital because of COVID-19.

So far, 8,323 people have tested negative for the coronavirus in the First State.
