PITTSVILLE, Md. - Pittsville Elementary and Middle School is the fourth school in the district to have water outlets test positive for lead.

Officials believe that some fixtures and faucets are made of lead which how it is getting into the water. However, the district has a plan set in place to fix the problem.

Paul Butler, director of communications for Wicomico Public County Schools, said the district is being proactive in its efforts.

"One of the things we are doing is making sure we replace every water outlet where the lead levels are high."

However some parents still have concerns about the lead hurting their children. Darren Lombardo, a parent of two sons who both attend Wicomico County public schools said, "I am very concerned about the remediation and how it's going to be handled."

Lombardo plans to get both of his kids tested for lead poisoning.

District officials have confirmed that every water outlet that has tested positive for lead in the county has been replaced. They will retest the water in September, once kids are back in school.
