OCEAN CITY, Md.- C3 Presents, the organizers of Chicago's Lollapalooza and the NFL Draft, will bring a large music festival to Ocean City on Sept. -25, 2022. That is the presumed weekend of H2Oi. The mayor and council voted unanimously to approve it. Some say the competing events will be an added problem. "I think it's going to be absolute chaos and maybe I won't be in town for that weekend. I can't imagine. I really can't imagine,” said Marty Cropper, of West Ocean City. "It definitely is going to bring extra people and with that is concerns of just behavior issues. I know Ocean City hasn't been getting a good rep with the late night extracurricular activities," said Lori Mocarsky of Mardela Springs, Md., who was shopping at the Food Lion in West Ocean City. C3 Presents will produce a three-day event in partnership with the town. Its initial estimated revenue is $50,000. The cost of each ticket will be $2. Tom Perlozzo, director of Ocean City's tourism and business development, says when he was approached by the company he saw it as a chance to welcome up to 30,000 people to the beach with good intentions. "I think that there's always going to be a concern obviously, but I'd like to echo what mayor and city council believe and start doing things that we do best... and I'm completely confident in our public safety to being able to handle this," said Perlozzo. The plan is to bring three stages and three acts to the beach. The festival will stretch from Dorchester Street to the inlet. C3 Presents is now in contract negotiations with potential musical acts.
