PITTSVILLE, Md.- Maryland State Police say a 54-year-old Pittsvillle man is dead following a Friday morning crash in eastern Wicomico County.
Police said that at around 8 a.m. troopers from the Salisbury Barrack responded to a crash that happened on eastbound US 50 east of East Side Road.
Troopers said an investigation revealed a GMC Yukon was traveling on eastbound U.S. 50 when the driver lost control and and the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned multiple times. Police said the driver and sole occupant, 54-year-old John Raymond Bryant, of Pittsville, was ejected. Troopers arrived on scene within a few minutes of the collision, and began performing CPR on Bryant until EMS arrived and transported him to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
Due to the holiday weekend traffic and heavy traffic volume, SHA responded to assist with a partial lane closure and traffic direction.
